Commenting Feature

Problem Statement

The assessment and accreditation processes for higher ed institutions involve different workflows. For accreditation in particular, the workflow is more of a conversational back-and-forth between contributors and admins of the report. We needed a way to facilitate this conversation that could also be applied to other areas in the product to satisfy different use cases.

Task

Design a commenting feature inside the accreditation module of the product that can be reused in other modules.

Goals

• Facilitate conversation between report admins and contributors

• Help with formal and informal review processes

• Solution should be made into a component so that it can be applied to other areas of the product

Iterations + Final Screens

Experimenting with different button styles and thinking about placement, visual weight, and spacing.

Adding the persistent comment field to the bottom of the panel and iterating on replies.

Layering in archived comments and how to view them.
